Demonstration Plant

The next project for Muradel’s Demonstration Plant with the benefit of supporting funds constitutes a plant upgrade in Whyalla, for integrated preliminary-scale capability to supply up to 125,000L of commercial green crude. Muradel is now positioned for final scale-up activities and commercial success, and will apply funds raised towards meeting the following objectives:

  • Upgrade Muradel Demonstration Plant infrastructure to integrate feedstock storage, pre-treatment and extraction capabilities and increase production capacity

  • To complete the demonstration of the Green2Black™ technology for processing of renewable biosolids at pre-commercial scale it is required to upgrade the MDP to include pre-treatment, expand the SCWR, post-treatment and solvent extraction. The SCWR will be expanded to 9 reactor tubes (as per the original design) to maximise the processing capacity.

  • Reach steady-state operations at pre-commercial scale

  • Product development and certification of the biofuel products from renewable biosolids

  • Production of a commercially relevant volume of green crude for supply as a feedstock for supply of renewable military diesel fuel or to a large end user

  • Finalise capital requirements and construction plans for a ~50 million L green crude production “bankable” project

Achievement of these commercial milestones will add substantial value to the company and underpin subsequent capital raising to finance the construction of a commercial biofuels plant.

Commercial Plant

A successful outcome to this project provides a novel source of up to 60ML of renewable green crude from a single major wastewater treatment plant in Australia and could provide a model for extension to other wastewater treatment plants in Australia and around the globe, where biosolids are stockpiled
